On December 27th, The Feast of St John the Evangelist service took place at Sheffield Cathedral. The Acting Dean, Canon Geoffrey Harbord kindly offered to remember Mary and John Parsons and the Silversmiths of the City of Sheffield in his sermon and in prayers.

This year, Sheffield Assay Office were unable to present prizes to the students of Sheffield Hallam University for their work in Jewellery, Materials and Design. However, we are delighted that SHU have created a dedicated platform to display the graduating student’s excellent work.

Sheffield Assay Office, who administer The Mary Parsons Charity for the silversmiths of Sheffield, were asked to take part in Sheffield cathedral's Christmas Tree Festival and have decorated a tree beneath the Mary and John Parsons memorial plaque.
