The Master Cutlers Challenge 2022
Published: 19th April 2022
It's official! Sheffield Assay Office has signed up to take part in this year's Master Cutlers Challenge, raising much needed funds for local families affected by cancer. The challenge was first launched in 2008 and has become one of the largest annual fundraising events in the region.
Over the years, the Challenge has inspired companies, organisations, schools and individuals to raise in excess of half a million pounds for local causes.
This year, the challenge is led by Master Cutler, James Tear and was launched on the 9th March. The challenge will run until the end of September, giving Sheffield Assay Office, and everyone else taking part, 6 whole months to raise as much money as possible.

The Sheffield Assay Office was established in 1773, under an Act of Parliament and today the company assays and hallmarks the precious metals - silver, gold, platinum and palladium. Sheffield Assay Office is one of only four UK assay offices who all work to uphold the Hallmarking Act of 1973 and continue to ensure consumer protection for customers purchasing precious metals.
