Sheffield Assay Master, Ashley Carson, was delighted to accept a gift from Sheffield Hallam University graduate and prize winner, Una Lo on Monday 20th May.

The Assay Master has over the years received a wonderful selection of gifts of work from students as a thank you for supporting the BA and MA programmes. On presenting the silver piece, entitled Death of the Dance, Una said of her work

Every living being eventually experiences mortality, but emotions and memories might endure. Jewellery preserves and expresses aspects of human experience beyond the temporality of life.

In order to allow as many people as possible to see the beautiful piece, the Assay Master has kindly agreed to loan the work to the 'Show Your Metal' exhibition at Millennium Gallery, organised by Sheffield Museums Trust opening 13th June 2024.
