New Board Appointments at Sheffield Assay Office
Published: 23rd November 2023
We are delighted to report that Mrs Bookey Oshin has recently been appointed as a member of our Executive board here at Sheffield Assay Office.
As well as being Deputy CEO of Sheffield Theatres and having recently become a Deputy Lieutenant of South Yorkshire, Bookey also sits on the board of Whirlow Hall Farm and is a trustee of Utopia Theatre.
We were also pleased to welcome Mr Christopher Brzozowski as a Guardian of the Wrought Plate at our recent Annual General Meeting. Chris is Commercial Director at ICD Europe Ltd in Sheffield and a Director of the Minor Metals Trade Association which comprises member companies in the minor metal and associated industries. He also sits on the organisation's European and Sustainability sub-committee and is a Freeman of the Cutlers Company of Hallamshire.
Assay Master & CEO, Ashley Carson, joined the Guardians and Executive Committee in welcoming Mrs Oshin and Mr Brzozowski into the organisation saying "We are delighted to have Bookey and Chris on board and know that they will both be a great asset to Sheffield Assay Office."
The Sheffield Assay Office was established in 1773, under an Act of Parliament and today the company assays and hallmarks the precious metals - silver, gold, platinum and palladium. Sheffield Assay Office is one of only four UK assay offices who all work to uphold the Hallmarking Act of 1973 and continue to ensure consumer protection for customers purchasing precious metals.
