Jewellery Education Day announced by National Association of Jewellers

Sheffield Assay Office are working closely with the National Association of Jewellers to help deliver a Jewellery Education Day.
The JET Practical Training Day will take place in Sheffield on 23rd January 2020 and will help students
- Learn how to identify coloured gemstones, diamonds and diamond simulants, using tools such as the microscope and refractometer;
- Learn how to read and interpret hallmarks;
- Take a tour of the hallmarking floor;
- Learn more about the amazing history of hallmarking.

The Sheffield Assay Office was established in 1773, under an Act of Parliament and today the company assays and hallmarks the precious metals - silver, gold, platinum and palladium.
