In the third of a series of short videos from our Analytical Services department, the team gives you an insight into our state of the art facilities and explains how our cutting edge technology is used for the analysis of precious metals and alloys. Sheffield Assay Office is a UKAS accredited organisation with over 250 years' experience testing a wide range of metals and alloys.
Viewers are given a brief glimpse of our ICP-OES and ICP-MS equipment, which is calibrated to provide metallic contents from 100% to 0.00005% for most metal elements in the periodic table.
Our laboratory provides the latest modern technologies to achieve full extraction of any metallic sample and we pride ourselves on being the only UK laboratory to offer bespoke turnaround from 24 ours to 10 days!

The Sheffield Assay Office was established in 1773, under an Act of Parliament and today the company assays and hallmarks the precious metals - silver, gold, platinum and palladium.
