Published: 10th July 2024

Changes

This month the Sheffield Assay Master, Ashley Carson, was delighted to make the following announcements regarding the new Hallmarking Department structure and long service congratulations:

"After recent staff changes we have taken the decision to appoint joint Heads of Production within the Hallmarking Department.

I'm delighted to announce that Amy Guest and Jordan Carson will now share overall responsibility for the day to day running of our Hallmarking provision with support from Andy Thorpe as Receipt and Despatch Supervisor, and Ryan Sprague as Customer Service Supervisor.

Colette Bishop, a qualified Silversmith, successful designer and a valued member of our Hallmarking team has now been promoted from Laser Hallmarker to the role of Specialist Bespoke Marking Advisor. Colette has a special eye for perfection and her appointment into this role will mean that other designers / jewellers and silversmiths will be able to talk to her about any special designs and how best to apply a hallmark into their work.

I'm also pleased to be able to congratulate the following members of the team for their long service here at Sheffield.

Dr Belen Morales (Head of Analytical Services) - 10 Years service achieved on 17th June 2024.
Sophie Dowker (HR Manager) - 2 Years service achieved on 4th July 2024.
Andy Thorpe (Receipt and Despatch Supervisor) - 28 years service achieved on 5th July 2024.
Rose Ganley (Laser Hallmarker) - 20 years service achieved on on 5th July 2024.
Tracey Smith (Laboratory Technician) - 37 years service achieved on 10th July 2024.

The continued hard work and commitment of all staff, to everything we do here in Sheffield, is very much appreciated by myself, the Executive and Guardians."
