Celebrating Excellence at the Made in Sheffield Awards 2024

Sheffield Assay Master, Ashley Carson, staff and guests attended the Made in Sheffield Awards this month to celebrate world-class companies based within South Yorkshire's 'S' postcode region.
The Made in Sheffield Awards 2024 was held at Sheffield's prestigious Cutlers' Hall and was of particular significance because it marked the Company of Cutlers' 400th anniversary, an organisation whose current Master Cutler is our very own Chairman, Charles Turner DL.
This years' awards were sponsored by The University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC), Aon, BHP LLP, Elevation Recruitment Group, Freeths, HSBC UK and Made Smarter Yorkshire & Humber, and Sheffield Assay Office were proud to have sponsored the laser engraving of the individual awards.
The Sheffield Assay Office was established in 1773, under an Act of Parliament and today the company assays and hallmarks the precious metals - silver, gold, platinum and palladium. Sheffield Assay Office is one of only four UK assay offices who all work to uphold the Hallmarking Act of 1973 and continue to ensure consumer protection for customers purchasing precious metals.
