BHC Seeks New Council Members

The Secretary of State is seeking to appoint three new Council Members to the British Hallmarking Council. The Members are drawn from consumer protection, trade, independent and economist backgrounds.
Specifically for this recruitment campaign the BHC are seeking three new members with a trade in precious metals background. The new appointees will serve for a term of three years, with the possibility of reappointment, subject to satisfactory performance. Applications are particularly encouraged from all members of society including from diverse backgrounds, to retain a balanced and diverse Council.

The Sheffield Assay Office was established in 1773, under an Act of Parliament and today the company assays and hallmarks the precious metals - silver, gold, platinum and palladium. Sheffield Assay Office is one of only four UK assay offices who all work to uphold the Hallmarking Act of 1973 and continue to ensure consumer protection for customers purchasing precious metals.
