GCDC Award Winners Display their Work Across the UK

Back in March 2024 at Goldsmiths’ Hall in London the important GCDC Annual Awards ceremony was opened by the Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council’s chair Anne-Marie Reeves, and hosted by Council Trustees Maeve Gillies and Judith Lockwood.

The event welcomed 300 guests, including representatives from world-renowned jewellery houses, notable sponsors, industry associations, leading designers, and the UK media.

Sheffield Assay Office were delighted to have supported the awards for a number of years and as the Assay Office celebrates its 250th anniversary Assay Master, Ashley Carson, chose to sponsor the 2D Hand Rendering Award.

Since then many of the award winning pieces have featured in shows and exhibitions up and down the country, including work by Ben Ryan for his 250th anniversary dish and Shinta Nakajima for his chased Acanthus sculpture. Ben and Shinta have also displayed work at Goldsmiths North, Sheffield which was very well received.
