On Friday 17th May 2024, twenty members of the Assay office team completed an 11 mile walk in the Hope Valley in aid of the Master Cutler's Challenge.
Starting from Hope Railway Station and walking to Castleton, Cave Dale and Mam Tor, and finishing with refreshments in Losehill, our amazing team of fundraisers enjoyed a great day in the beautiful Derbyshire Peak District.
This month the team were delighted to be able to present a whopping £2551 to the Master Cutler's Challenge in aid of the chosen charity of Sheffield Cathedral's Schools Singing Programme.
The Sheffield Assay Office was established in 1773, under an Act of Parliament and today the company assays and hallmarks the precious metals - silver, gold, platinum and palladium. Sheffield Assay Office is one of only four UK assay offices who all work to uphold the Hallmarking Act of 1973 and continue to ensure consumer protection for customers purchasing precious metals.
