Assay Master Attends Sheffield Hallam University Graduation Ceremony

Sheffield Assay Master, Ashley Carson recently attended the graduation ceremonies for Sheffield Hallam University's College of Social Sciences and Arts, where he was awarded an honorary Doctorate back in 2003.

Mr Carson was delighted to witness one of his staff, Danielle Ward receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in Jewellery, Materials and Design. Danielle was also awarded the Sheffield Assay Office Graduation Prize of Excellence in Design at Level 6 Runner Up, this award is judged by the Assay Master and is awarded to a student who exhibited outstanding qualities in the design and manufacture of work in their graduation show.

Also awarded prizes sponsored by the Assay Office were, Yang Wenwen, who also was awarded the Sheffield Assay Office Graduation Prize of Excellence in Design at Level 6 Runner Up.

Danielle joined the Sheffield Assay Office team in July, 2021 and is currently working and training in XRF Testing while studying the DeBeers Foundation Course in Diamonds.
