Analytical Services Division Doubles Capacity for Carbon and Sulphur Testing with New Kit

The Analytical Services division of Sheffield Assay Office has successfully doubled its capacity for carbon and sulphur testing by investing in additional analyser equipment.

Inside the CS744 analyser, a portion of the sample is combusted in a stream of oxygen, which oxidises the carbon and sulphur to form CO2 and SO2 which are then detected by the non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) cell.
