When asked what were his highlights over the last 40 years, Andy said “being instrumental on the re-location of the Office from Portobello Street to Beulah Road was a very rewarding time. There is never a day when I don’t look forward to going to work and love the challenges of keeping the building working and maintaining our high standards”

The Assay Master helped Andy celebrate his special day with other members of the Assay Office team, and said "There are not many people these days who can say that they have worked at one organisation for 40 years. Andy is an extremely important member of the team and we're all delighted to be able to celebrate this huge milestone with him."

The Sheffield Assay Office was established in 1773, under an Act of Parliament and today the company assays and hallmarks the precious metals - silver, gold, platinum and palladium. Sheffield Assay Office is one of only four UK assay offices who all work to uphold the Hallmarking Act of 1973 and continue to ensure consumer protection for customers purchasing precious metals.
