Laboratory Technician, Analytical Services - 30+ Years
Tracey started working for Sheffield Assay Office in 1989, starting in the hallmarking balance room weighing up the gold cupellation samples before moving on to silver titration for a number of years. With the introduction of x-ray fluorescence, Tracey transferred to Analytical Services and she has a breadth of knowledge in many aspects of laboratory work. Her current role involves processing the medical, mercury samples, migrations and gold cupellation. She is always prepared to assist in other areas when required. Tracey very much enjoys her job even after all these years as each day brings variety, she said ‘you never know what work will come in and where I will be needed. One of the highlights of my time at Sheffield Assay Office was a trip to the Royal Mint which was really interesting’.
