Sophie Langley

Senior Analyst

Sophie joined the Analytical Services team in 2018. She has previously worked in an environmental testing lab using LC-MS and an agricultural testing lab using ICP-OES and ICP-MS.

Sophie’s role is predominantly instrument based, analysing samples using ICP-OES and ICP-MS. She also deals with a lot of non-routine samples and method development. Sophie is also a Staff Guardian of the Standard of Wrought Plate within the Town of Sheffield, attending two meetings a year and giving her valuable input to the Executive Committee.

In her spare time Sophie enjoys salsa dancing and dressmaking. Her claim to fame is she once sat next to Michael Fassbender in a restaurant in Argentina.
